“Black Cat Bone” is the name of the new Lee Rocker solo record. We hear about this rockabilly album and about Lee Rocker’s days with The Stray Cats. Lee Rocker is an articulate, journeyman recording and touring musician and that makes this a fun and interesting 18 November 2007 interview.

Martin Atkins - Made in China

Martin Atkins - Pigface     [Use MEMBER's Player]

In this 11 November 2007 interview we talk to Martin Atkins of his time with Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Pigface, and more. But, what is really exciting is the mother lode of punk and no wave throwback music found by him on a business trip to China and compiled onto Look Directly Into the Sun: China Pop 2007. We also here stories from Martin of working with traditional Chinese musicians in China, an event that was documented and produced an album: Made in China by Martin Atkin's China Dub Soundsystem.

3rd Program:
Machine Head - Burning Red

Machine Head bassist Adam Duce     [Use MEMBER's Player]

Unexpectedly unearthed from deep in the Outsight Radio Hours archives, this July 1 1999 interview with Machine Head bassist Adam Duce is one of the very first ever telephone interviews does on the show and also dates back to the very earliest days of Internet radio in general. The occasion of the interview was the then impending release of the group’s album “The Burning Red”  ...(read more inside Player Window when open).

Alison Chesley - Helen Money     [Use MEMBER's Player]

Alison Chesley has played cello on many recordings that came out of Chicago, including Poi Dog Pondering, Archer Prewitt, and many more including many from Steve Albini’s studio. In this 4 November 2007 interview we talk about this and how an encounter with Bob Mould conjured up from within her the alter ego of a cello aggravator: “Helen Money”.

5th Program:
Jon Larsen - Strange News From Mars

Jon Larsen     [Use MEMBER's Player]

In this 28 October 2007 interview we meet jazz guitarist Jon Larsen of Hot Club of Norway and Hot Club records. Call it “jungle music” and not “gypsy jazz” and Larsen explains why in this interview. He also invites us into the Zappa alumni world in regards his first album with Arthur Barrow, Jimmy Carl Black, Tommy Mars and more. It is called “Strange News from Mars” and is the first or a projected trio using Zappa musicians.

6th Program:
Tuner - Pole

Tuner - Pat Mastelotto     [Use MEMBER's Player]

In this 21 October 2007 interview, drummer extraordinaire Pat Mastelotto talks about his current project Tuner, as well as looking back to the King Crimson double trio days and working with XTC brown bagging it in the studio for Oranges & Lemons.

7th Program:
André Cholmondeley, Project/Object - Dream Of The Dog

Andre Cholmondeley - Project Object     [Use MEMBER's Player]

In this 14 October 2007 interview, guitarist / vocalist André Cholmondeley tells us how an annual 24-hour party on Frank Zappa’s birthday became the FZ tribute band Project/Object. Typically working with Zappa alumni, this time around Cholmondeley is working with Napoleon Murphy Brock and we hear of this offers a direct link to Zappa’s original intentions.

Dickie Peterson - Blue Cheer     [Use MEMBER's Player]

Dickie also gives us an overview of how simplicity and rock-n-roll fit together like hand and glove.

9th Program:

All that is touched on, including Harris˘ involvement with the Thing-Fish and Them or Us albums as well as producing his own soon-to-be-reissued opus, The Great Nostalgia. We also explore his hard rock involvement, including Edge of Forever and resurrecting Axe.

10th Program:
Josie Cotton - Movie Disaster Music

Jerome Youngman - Mutant Press     [Use MEMBER's Player]

On Sunday, 16 Sept. 2007 I interviewed Mutant Press main man Jerome T. Youngman. I expected to focus on his collaboration with Josie Cotton, but the interview touched a lot on his early association with Gerhard Helmut & Ripped as well as working with Bobby Paine, bassist and Josie Cotton/Go-Gos songwriter. The proto-punk topics discussed in this episode of Outsight Radio Hours are fascinating!
