| NEW POD & Coolstreams
Player Styles: These Play buttons open our player windows in
a new browser window. You may have to allow pop-ups for it
to work properly.
(These player options are not yet available on many of our Archive tab programs at this time
- see below for more on those). You may have
to hold the CTRL key when clicking Play, or disable Pop-Up blockers
for our site to use these player windows. |

| "SET
ORDER" and "PLAY RANDOM / PLAY STREAMS" |

"SET ORDER:" Programs On
Demand is the section of Coolstreams that allows our
producer's talents to shine! In our POD sections,
you find expertly crafted programs showcasing the
song segues, song selections, or historical or topical
themes (such as the Paul Ingles features on The Beatles,
Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon etc.). Set Order plays these
programs in the specific order in which these programs were
crafted by the producer. |

"PLAY STREAMS" - Our 128k MP3 Continuous Coolstreams /
"PLAY RANDOM" on our POD pages, turns the current On
Demand feature into a continuous Coolstream made up of all of
the songs from the currently featured sets in a random
selection order.
These options use an embedded Real
Player, and you do need a version of
Real Player installed on your PC for it to work
(for those who don't have Real Player
and do not want to install it, there is an ALTERNATIVE
option to installing Real Player (Free & Non Intrusive) that will allow our player
to work perfectly - see below)

Alternative to Real Player that allows our media player to work:
For those who do not have and
do not want to install a version of Real Player, there is a safe
alternative and free player that provides the Real Audio codecs that
will allow our embedded player to function perfectly. This
comes from Mozillazine Firefox support (at
this link - opens in new window >>>) and works both in Internet
Explorer (tested in IE version 7) and Firefox. The program is
called "Real Alternative" and is available from
this link (also opens in new window) >>>. (We have tested
Real Alternative 1.80). This product is a freeware player
called "Media Player Classic" (it is not from Real Networks) that
will also play older versions of Real Audio files (Note that it will
not play SMIL presentations like in our original Real Player
Programs On Demand in our archives), You can read more about
it in the Mozillazine link above. When installed, it will
display (on our player page) the most recent Real Player controls to
allow our embedded player to function properly!

the ITunes Player WILL NOT OPEN THE PROGRAM SEGMENTS IN THE ORDER
THAT WE ARRANGED THEM. We advise that you change your default
to Winamp or Windows Media Player (for opening the .m3u file type)
to hear program sets in the proper order. For more details, or for help with how

Player (v 11.x) will NOT play our older archive programs, so you
will need to have or find a version of Real Player 10 or 8 to use

When using the Real Player buttons, if you get a "General
Error..." message box (most often happens the first time after the
player opens [and you enter your login & password on Member
streams]) click OK, then Click the Play (>) button on the Real
Player and the program will start! Similarly, if the program does
not start in your MP3 player, click play again. We do not yet have
a fix for this problem.

| Real Player Issues: |
With Real Player version
11.x, Real has completely changed their player in a way that no
longer supports earlier features and something called "smil"
scripting. We used "smil" scripting to provide the display of
the song titles and album images in the player while the programs
played.
Therefore, our older
POD Archive programs will not play in Real Player version 11.x.
We will not waste any further time and effort with Real Player to
try to make the programs work with the new player versions.
We have left the old
Real Player buttons on our older archive series for those who have
Real Player version 10.x and can still use them. If you want
to find an older version 10.x of Real Player, use
this link for the "Real Legacy Software Archive" >>> or do a
google search for "real player 10." We recommend that you use
Real Player version 10.5 for our archive programs, however our
programs should also work in Real Player version 8 (but not earlier
versions).
If you have already
upgraded to Real Player 11 and want to go back to 10, Uninstall RP
11 first.
Note that our older POD
Archive programs will also NOT work using the free "Real
Alternative" player that we mention above for use with our new
Coolstreams and Play Random streams. |
